Family Pantry looking for volunteers and turkeys. Volunteers: Business is booming at the pantry. In October we served 1051 clients which is a 24% increase over last September. Yikes! To better serve our clients and our volunteers we are going to start a swing shift on Tuesdays from 11:00 to 1:30. Instead of having a morning and an afternoon shift and closing from 12 to 1:30 we will stay open all day from 10AM to 3:30. To do this we need 10-12 people to staff the pantry from 11-1:30. The jobs will include helping clients with food, restocking the shelves and helping the clients with clothing in the boutique area. If you are interested please contact Patty Watson – pwatson@thefamilypantry.com or 508-432-6519.     Turkeys   Yes, it’s that time of year. The leaves have fallen, there is certain crispness to the air and the days are getting shorter. Ready or not, Thanksgiving is just a month away. This year, as in the past, we are asking anyone who can afford to do so to buy an extra turkey (frozen) when shopping for your family’s holiday meal. Bring the turkey to the Family Pantry and we will give it along with a bag with all the fixings for a complete dinner to a family who needs a little help. The Family Pantry serves families from each town on Cape Cod and a few that travel to us from the other side of the bridge. Last year we gave out over 900 turkeys between Thanksgiving and Christmas and we expect to do even more this year! We are seeing an increase in the number of families that visit us each month and with your help we will have enough turkeys to take care of all of them.   The best times to drop off the turkeys are as listed below:   Tuesdays:   7AM -12 & 1:30-3:30 Thursdays: 7AM -12 & 1:30-3:30 & 5-7PM Saturdays: 7AM -12 & 1:30-3:30
